  • Merchants: Businesses that subscribe to and use CHCKN's platform

  • Members: Customers who join a merchant's loyalty program through CHCKN

Merchant Account Information: When you create a merchant account, we collect your business name, contact name, email address, phone number, and other business details needed to set up your account.


Member Information: When you join a loyalty program, we collect your name, email address, phone number (if you opt in to SMS), and birthday (optional). This information is provided either directly by you or by the merchant on your behalf.


Payment Information: Payment processing is handled securely by Stripe. We do not store your full credit card details on our servers.


Campaign Content: When merchants create email campaigns, SMS messages, or push notifications, we store the content and recipient lists.


Communications: When you contact us for support, we collect the information you provide in your messages.

Information We Collect Automatically


Usage Data: We collect information about how you interact with our platform, including pages visited, features used, actions taken, and time spent on various sections.


Device Information: We collect information about the device you use to access CHCKN, including device type, operating system, browser type, IP address, and unique device identifiers.


Location Data: We may collect general location information based on your IP address to provide location-relevant features and analytics.


Loyalty Program Activity: We track stamps earned, rewards redeemed, points balances, and transaction history within loyalty programs.

With Merchants

If you're a member of a loyalty program, the merchant who operates that program can access your profile information, loyalty activity, and communication preferences. Merchants are responsible for their own use of your data in accordance with their privacy policies.

With Service Providers

We share data with trusted third-party service providers who help us operate our platform:

With Digital Wallet Providers

When you add a loyalty card to your digital wallet (Apple Wallet or Google Wallet), we share information with Apple or Google to generate and maintain your wallet pass. This may include:

  • Membership or loyalty program details

  • Stamps, points, or rewards balances

  • Pass design and merchant information


Apple and Google process this information according to their own privacy policies. We do not control how Apple or Google handle data once the wallet pass is generated.


For Legal Reasons

Important Note About SMS Opt-In Data

We will never share, sell, or transfer your SMS opt-in consent or mobile phone number to third parties for their marketing purposes. This information is used solely to provide services you've requested from CHCKN and participating merchants.

We use cookies and similar technologies to improve your experience, analyze usage, and deliver relevant content.

Essential Cookies: Required for the platform to function properly. These enable core features like account login and security.


Functionality Cookies: Remember your preferences and settings to personalize your experience.

Merchants can access and update their account information by logging into their CHCKN dashboard. Members can request access to their information by contacting the merchant or emailing us at support@chckn.app.


Delete Your Account

Merchants can request account deletion by contacting us at support@chckn.app. Members can request to be removed from a loyalty program by contacting the merchant directly.


Opt-Out of Communications

  • Marketing Emails: Click the unsubscribe link in any marketing email

  • SMS Messages: Reply STOP to any SMS message from a merchant

  • Push Notifications: Adjust your device settings to disable push notifications

  • Service Notifications: Some service-related messages are necessary for account operation and cannot be opted out of


Cookie Preferences

Adjust your browser settings to control cookie acceptance and deletion.


Do Not Sell My Personal Information

We do not sell personal information. We do not share your data with third parties for their direct marketing purposes.


8. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services and fulfill the purposes described in this policy.

  • Merchant Accounts: We retain data for as long as your account is active, plus a reasonable period afterward for legal and business purposes

  • Member Data: We retain member data for as long as the merchant's account is active and as directed by the merchant

  • Transaction Records: We may retain transaction and payment records for accounting, tax, and legal compliance purposes

  • Communications: We retain campaign and message logs as long as necessary for service delivery and analytics


After you delete your account, we may retain certain information in de-identified or aggregated form, or as required by law.


9. Children's Privacy

CHCKN is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it immediately.

10. International Users and Data Transfers

CHCKN operates from Canada and uses service providers located in the United States and other countries.
